The U.S. men's Olympic team did more than merely lose yesterday. It was embarrassed and exposed in its most lopsided defeat since adding NBA players in 1992, as Italy steamrolled over the US 95-78. I hope it takes some of them off of their high horses and shows them that "me me me" isn't the best way to play hoops. The US got a taste of how solid fundamentals and TEAM basketball can dominate. It will be interesting to see how they respond.
